ITAHARI, Dec 26: Three departmental teams - Nepal Police Club, Armed Police Force (APF) and Tribhuvan Army Club - and Western Region emerged victorious in the men’s volleyball events at the Seventh National Games on Sunday.
In the matches held in Itahari, Police registered 21-25, 25-17, 25-17, 25-14 win over Central Region while another departmental team APF overcame Eastern Region 25-10, 25-14, 25-20. Similarly, the Army edged past Mid-western Region 25-15, 25-22, 25-8. In the last match of the men’s event, Western Region defeated Far-western Region 25-16, 25-20, 25-22.
Altogether eight teams- five regional teams, three departmental teams- are taking part in the men’s volleyball events.
In women’s volleyball, Police and APF won their respective matches while two regional teams including Central Region and Western Region also emerged victorious.
In the matches held in Itahari, Police overcame the home team Eastern Region 25-13, 25-7, 19-25, 25-12 while APF defeated Mid-western Region in the straight sets of 25-10, 25-7, 25-6. Similarly, Western Region overcame Mid-western Region 25-20, 25-15, 25-14. The last match of the day saw Central Region earning 25-9, 25-10, 25- win over Far-western Region.
