Will collaborate with private sector for economic prosperity: PM Dahal

KATHMANDU, Aug 15: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said the government under his leadership would collaborate with the private sector for the country's economic development.

The Prime Minister said this in a meeting with a delegation of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce at his official residence at Baluwatar today.

On the occasion, the Prime Minister emphasised on the need of economic development for institutionalising the political; change.develop 

Stressing on the need of the government and the private sector going hand-in-hand for economic development, he urged the industrialists and businessmen to bring work plan for increasing employment. 

"Hundreds of thousands of youths have gone for work abroad. Their life is very hard. There would be more complication if a climate of employment was not created within the country. The government is preparing to bring an effective action plan in this connection and the positive cooperation of the private sector is also required for this," the Prime Minister's personal deputy secretary Manohar Timilsina quoted the Prime Minister as saying during the meeting. 

According to Timilsina, PM Dahal informed the delegation that he made a policy decision immediately after his election to the post of Prime Minister for providing employment to the youths and that the government would bring the programmes in line with that decision, urging the Chamber delegation for their cooperation to that end. 
 

Chairman Rajeshkaji Shrestha said that they made a special urge to the Prime Minister to forward the economic bills immediately, to ease the supply management and to control the black marketing. 

The delegation drew the attention of the Prime Minister to create environment to increase export, to provide grant to export-oriented industries and provide discount in tax as country's trade deficit is increasing every year. 

The NCC said that it was ready to support the government if it brings concrete draft and action plan for the employment promotion. It also urged Prime Minister Dahal for clarity in policy level for commercial agriculture and economic development and to investment-friendly environment. 

Similarly, the NCC also asked the government to amend the Black Marketing Control Act, to open Tatopani border check point and to forward infrastructure development projects. RSS
