Wildlife photographer Chungba Sherpa passes away

Renowned wildlife photographer Chungba Sherpa has passed away. The 64-year-old master photographer passed away at Grande Hospital at 12:15 am tonight.

KATHMANDU, Jan 13: Renowned wildlife photographer Chungba Sherpa has passed away. The 64-year-old master photographer passed away at Grande Hospital at 12:15 am tonight.


Sherpa, who had a permanent address in Lukla, Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality-1, Solukhumbu, had been undergoing treatment for a week due to liver problems. He was being treated on a ventilator. Ward Chairman of Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality-1, Funuru Sherpa, confirmed that Sherpa died during treatment.

He has two sons and three daughters. Sherpa, who had been associated with the Nepali Congress for a long time and was also involved in politics, was also the president of the Nepali Congress Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality. He was involved in the tourism business and was also a former VDC chairman of Chaurikharka. Sherpa was associated with various national and international organizations related to photography.
