KHOTANG, Oct 27: Lakpa Diku Sherpa, 36, died after being hit by a firewood log by her husband Dawa Sherpa, 40, of Lalikharka, Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality-2, Mude.
The wife died of the firewood-hit by her husband last night during a domestic dispute between her and her drunken husband.
Life Back On Track
A local resident said that the wife, who ran away after a fight between the husband and wife, was found dead in a narrow path, about 200 meters away from the house. Benu Karki, police inspector of the district police office, said that the police team deployed last night detained the husband and started an investigation.
Neighbors said that the Sherpa couple used to have regular disputes. Eyewitnesses said that after a dispute on Wednesday, the wife left the house and went to her mother's house. The husband went there and hit her.
The body of the deceased was taken to the district hospital last night for an autopsy. The Sherpa couple has two daughters.
