Busy Kamal Thapa doesn’t meet Sushma Swaraj

KATHMANDU, Feb 2: While all top political leaders of Nepal queued to meet Indian External Affairs Minister, Deputy Prime Minister of Nepal caught attention.


Deputy Prime Minister and chairperson of Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Kamal Thapa was preparing to travel to Chitwan for the party’s program when Swaraj landed.  “Due to a scheduled program, party chair couldn’t meet IEAM Swaraj,” Mohan Shrestha, deputy spokesperson of Rastriya Prajatantra Party said.

Thapa will return on February 5 after concluding programs of Chitwan, Makawanpur, Bara and Parsa.


During her visit, Swaraj paid courtesy call to President Bidhya Devi Bhandari, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and met top leaders of political parties in queue. CPN Chairman KP Sharam Oli, the first leader Swaraj met yesterday hosted a dinner party at Soltee hotel. Following her meeting with Oli, Madesh-based party leaders Mahanta Thakur, Rajendra Mahato and others reached at Soltee hotel to meet Swaraj.


Today, CPN (Moist Center) Chairman Puspa Kamal Dahal, Upendra Yadav, Chairman of Federal Socialist Forum Nepal reached the hotel early morning to meet Swaraj.  After meeting Dahal and Yadav, Swaraj paid a courtesy call to the President and the Prime Minister, who later hosted a lunch.
