A majority of people tend to use free WordPress or joomla themes, which is not SEO friendly. So, it is better to buy amount SEO friendly themes which can later pay lot more than initial investment.

Select a proper niche or micro- niche
The name of the websites should focus on the only things that the name itself reflects.
Ambiguous names or content might create confusion for the site visitors.

The website must provide service for 24 hours. The chance for the websites/server going down should be almost zero.

Select a branding or keyword based domain
Choosing the domain name by branding (easy to remember) and keyword based domain helps in optimizing the search.

Google keyword planner is an important SEO tool, which helps us to research the keywords with high average monthly search and low competitions. Every keyword shows result in different order in different countries. It is because search engine has different Top Level Domain (TLD) for different countries. Search output and order for same keyword may be different for different countries.  While searching for keywords we should first check and know the targeted audience, using, Google trend tools. Targeted audience can be selected in webmaster tools.

You need to know competitors of your website. Finding out the top competitors and start beating them is very important.

The websites that Google ranks on the 1st page of its search results for any keywords are the ones that they consider to be the most useful and relevant. They determine which websites are the most useful and relevant by using a complex algorithm (mathematical process) which takes into account many different factors.

Number of inbound links
Quality of inbound links
