Westerly wind creates cloudy condition

KATHMANDU, Dec 20: Cloudy weather is prevalent throughout the country today due to the influence of the Westerly wind.

The Weather Forecasting Division has said the Westerly wind has especially affected the western region.

Meteorologist Samir Shrestha said this weather system that developed since some days has become more active today, causing cloudy weather from the far-west region up to the eastern parts of the Kathmandu Valley.

According to him, there is possibility of isolated rain in the far-west region of the country towards the afternoon while foggy conditions have been predicted for the Tarai region.

Although the minimum temperature in the Kathmandu Valley has climbed somewhat, cold conditions have been experienced due to lack of sunshine. The cloudy weather will remain till tonight and the weather will improve from Thursday, Shrestha said.

The minimum temperature in the Kathmandu Valley today was 5.6 degrees Celsius while the maximum temperature was 19.5 degrees Celsius. Jumla had the lowest temperature at 1.4 degrees Celsius and Biratnagar the highest temperature of 25 degrees Celsius. RSS
