NAWALPARASI, April 1: The Parasi-based district prison of western Nawalparasi has seen trouble with the adjustment of higher number of jailbirds beyond its capacity.
The prison management has witnessed difficulties when the district jail has to hold prisoners two times than its capacity.
165-year-old prison holds inmates three times its capacity
According to the jail administration, mainly the problems are visible in the management of residential space and toilets.
Currently there are 382 jailbirds in district prison while the accommodation capacity is only for 175 inmates, said the prison management sources. There are 321 males and 61 females in the jail. Also there are 6 minors in the jail.
