KATHMANDU, Aug 20: The Meteorological Forecasting Division has forecast light to heavy rainfall with thunder and lightning in most parts of the country on Thursday.
According to the division, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at many places of the country and there are chances of heavy rainfall at one or two places of Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudur Paschim provinces. Weather throughout the country will generally remain cloudy, reads a weather bulletin issued by the division earlier on Thursday morning.

Similarly, weather throughout the country tonight is expected to be generally cloudy. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to continue at some places in Province 1 and Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali provinces. The division also forecast heavy rainfall at one or two places in Bagmati, Gandaki and Sudur Paschim provinces.
In the bulletin issued at 6 am, the division urged the local people to apply precautionary measures as there is risk of flood, landslide, soil erosion triggered by heavy rainfall particularly in some places of Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudur Paschim provinces.
