KATHMANDU, July 23: CPN (Maoist Center) leader Narayan Kaji Shrestha has expressed dissatisfaction over what he said ‘forcibly’ endorsing the citizenship bill through parliament.
Taking to Facebook on Saturday, Shrestha said that such a tendency of the NC on issues of national importance is not always acceptable to the alliance. “Let the Nepali Congress understand on time that continuous forceful measures will not be acceptable in the name of alliance. Time has come for our party to think seriously that there cannot be compromise on national issues in the name of alliance and the government,” he wrote. “The alliance government and vote is not our end.”

Shrestha has also said that the procedure adopted while endorsing the citizenship amendment bill and the arrangements made regarding naturalized citizenship are wrong. He argued that since the citizenship is a sensitive issue any decision on the issue need to be taken only on the basis of national consensus.
