UDAYAPUR, Jan 18: Ward member of Jantedhunga rural municipality in the district died when an auto-rickshaw met with an accident on Friday evening.
Member of ward 1 of the rural municipality 35-year-old Ganesh Khadka breathed his last while undergoing treatment at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan on Saturday afternoon.

According to police, Khadka himself was driving the ill-fated rickshaw (Sa 1 Ha 3237) en route to his home from Chudandigadhi municipality-6, Beltari when the accident took place at Banshilaghat. The rickshaw fell some 150 meters off the road.
“He was all alone on the rickshaw, therefore, we were informed about the incident only on Saturday morning,” informed ward chairperson Kedarman Rai. According to Rai, Khadka who had sustained injuries was rushed to hospital but breathed his last.
