Ward Chairperson in Rautahat dies of suspected COVID-19

RAUTAHAT, Aug 3: The Ward Chairperson of Ishanath Municipality-5, Devendra Thakur in Rautahat district passed away on Monday morning. He displayed COVID-19 symptoms such as fever, coughs, and breathing difficulties.

RAUTAHAT, Aug 3: The Ward Chairperson of Ishanath Municipality-5, Devendra Thakur in Rautahat district passed away on Monday morning. He displayed COVID-19 symptoms such as fever, coughs, and breathing difficulties.


Thakur is learnt to have been suffering from fever, coughs and breathing difficulties for the last two weeks, according to his family members. Although he was tested negative for COVID-19 in the Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) conducted three days ago, it is suspected that he could have been infected with the COVID-19.

His dead body has been kept at Jathara for swab collection. The swab sample will then be tested for the COVID-19.


Thakur breathed his last while being taken to Rautahat Nursing Home for treatment, according to Dr Ram Shankar Thakur.
