KALIKOT, May 5: Police have arrested ward chairman of Raskot Municipality-1 Nawaraj Sanjyal for his unruly behavior at a Dohorisanjh in Surkhet.

Police took three people including Sanjyal into custody after he was found engaging in rowdy activities at a Kankrebihar Dohori Sanjh under the influence of alcohol.

Sanjyal was out for inter-district livestock and agriculture observation program when he was arrested, said police 

Sanjyal who had reached Surkhet on Tuesday had entered Kankrebihar Dohori Sanjh with a group of his friends – one ward member and the other was Nardhoj Khadka alias Umesh, central member of the CPN (Maoist Center).

Ward Chairman Sanjyal who left Dohori Sanjh at 10 pm was arrested when he was kicking on the shutters of the three shops while he was on the way back home.

The others two, who were arrested along with Sanjyal, manhandled security personnel and rebuked them using foul language.

It is learned that when the police tried to remind them that they should not demonstrate rowdy behavior under the influence of alcohol, they went at them and stared manhandling. When they could not take them under control, the additional security personnel were called to the incident site.

There have been complaints from various quarters after the representatives were found engaged in misusing millions of budgets in alcohol. The locals have been disheartened to find representatives indulging in alcohol by misusing state coffer.

Locals have been tired of such behaviors of their representatives who had given tall promises during the election period.

Police have released Sanjyal on the condition that he would not take wine in the future.
