Tendi Sherpa had a net score of 70 to secure second place. Sherpa shot one under, 71 net to finish second runner-up on the count Back. The event was played under the stroke play format under stroke play format.
Wangchen´s 4 under on a stroke play tournament is also a scoring record for amateur golfer in Gokarna Golf Club. Tashi Ghale and CB Bhandari´s 3 under par record was shattered by Wangchen today at Gokarna Golf club.
Suman Sachdev, director, Gokarna Forest Resort, gave away the prizes to the winners.
School basketball to begin Sunday
KATHMANDU, July 25: Secondary School-level Basketball Tournament, organized by Grammar Public School, Koteshwar, is scheduled to kick off on Sunday.
Sixteen schools from the valley, which would be divided into four groups, will participate in the event. The tournament will be held in league cum knockout format. Top two teams from each group would be selected for the quarterfinal round to be played in the knockout format.
A budget of Rs 2, 40,000 has been allotted for the event. The winner will bag a cash prize worth Rs 10,000 and a trophy. Runners-up, fair play team, highest scorer will also be given away prizes and trophies.
The final event will be held on August 2.
Skipper Shrestha felicitated
KATHMANDU, July 25: Man Maneshwari Football Club, Tangal felicitated National Football skipper Rakesh Shrestha on Saturday. Former Prime Minister Surya Bahadur Thapa, a resident of Tangal, gave Rakesh token of love and certificate on the occasion.
