Voting on PM Oli’s trust motion begins

KATHMANDU, May 10: Voting process on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s confidence motion as per Article 100 (1) has just begun at the House of Representatives (HoR). 

A special session of the lower house of parliament has been summoned as Oli ‘considered it necessary to seek the vote of confidence from parliament.’ 

Earlier, Prime Minister KP Shamra Oli urged the lawmakers to vote in favor of his trust motion and ‘ensure a political stability in the country’. He also hinted at dissolving parliament again if he fails to secure parliament’s confidence. 

Similarly, Sher Bahadur Deuba, President of main opposition party, Nepali Congress (NC) Sher Bahadur Deuba, Chairman of CPN (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Mahantha Thakur of Janata Samajbadi Party, among others, put forth their views on the prime minister’s trust motion.
