KATHMANDU, Nov 11: The Electction Commission (EC) has deputed voter educators from Saturday in a way to reach out voter education to the doorsteps of every voter in view of the elections to the House of Representatives and State Assemblies scheduled for November 26 and December 7. 


A total of 20 thousand voter educators have been deployed in a way to mobilize at least one in each polling centre, informed Joint Secretary of Election Commission, Nawaraj Dhakal.

Each voter educator will educate 200 households or maximum 1,064 voters who turn up to cast ballot at polling centre. The educator will not only educate how to vote properly but also to encourage voters to exercise their franchise rights. 


A total of 15.43 million voters have been enrolled for the elections to the House of Representatives and State Assemblies. The election to the House of Representatives will elect 165 legislators under the first-past-the-post category and 110 under the proportional representation category. Likewise, the elections to the State Assemblies will elect 330 members under the direct category and 220 under the proportional representation system.
