KATHMANDU, Nov 20: Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya has said that counting of votes will start from 9PM today in Terai districts including Kathmandu.
He said this while voting for the members of the House of Representatives and the Provincial Assembly from the polling station at Unique Nepal Academy in Bhaktapur on Sunday. Voting has started in one phase across the country from 7 am today. Talking to the media after casting his vote, Thapalia said that the commission is confident that there will be more than 70 percent voting in this election.

He said that as soon as the voting process is completed at 5 o'clock in the evening, the work of collecting all the ballot boxes will begin and after collecting the ballot boxes by 7 o'clock, the counting of votes will start from 9 o'clock tonight.
Similarly, he said that since the ballot boxes cannot be collected in the Himalayan district today, all the ballot boxes will be collected by 5 am tomorrow and if necessary, the ballot boxes will be collected from the helicopter and the counting process will start from 5 am tomorrow.
He said that the direct result will be published within the next 8 days. He said that all the results will be available by December 8.
