Vote counting resumes in Ilam-2 after a hiatus of six hours, UML’s Nembang takes a lead

ILAM, Nov 24: The counting of votes of Ilam-2 has resumed after a hiatus of six hours. 

The counting of votes resumed at 12 noon after reaching an agreement on the issue of unsealed ballot papers that had been counted.

According to the latest results, CPN-UML candidate Subash Chandra Nembang has maintained his lead. Nembang is leading by about 850 votes after the counting of votes in Mangsebung and Chulachuli Rural Municipality-6, 7, 8 of Mai Nagar and Ward numbers 1, 2, and 3 of Phakphokthum Rural Municipality. So far, Nembang has received 11,621 votes, while Dambar Bahadur Khadka of Nepali Congress, who is a candidate of the ruling alliance, has received 10,788 votes.

Similarly, Ram Bahadur Ranamgar of CPN-UML is leading in the Province Assembly B with a wide margin. While Magar got 10,931 votes, Harka Lawati (Kancha) of the ruling alliance got 9,224 votes.

Meanwhile, only the results of Phakphokthum Rural Municipality Ward 4, 5, 6 and 7 are yet to be made public as the vote counting of Provincial Assembly B is currently underway.
