KATHMANDU, May 18: The vote-counting in Palungtar Municipality-6 of Gorkha has been put off after it was found that the ballot box of one of the booths was not sealed.
Election Officer Gokarna Raj Pant said that the counting of votes had been postponed for some time after the dispute erupted over the issue. An all-party meeting has been called to settle the issue.
Of the total votes counted, CPN (Maoist Center) has received 5,783 votes, Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) has received 5,422 votes, while Nepali Congress (NC) has received 4,755 votes.
Security around the area has been tightened following the dispute.
