LALITPUR, May 14: Vote counting at Kathmandu Metropolitan City and Lalitpur Metropolitan City will begin from 8AM today, according to the district election office.
Out of the total 122,890 eligible voters in the Lalitpur metropolis, 86,540 votes were cast for the local election, according to chief returning officer at the Lalitpur Metropolitan City Kiran Prasad Shiwakoti.
Sources, however, said the vote counting at Lalitpur Metropolitan City may be deferred for 9 AM as an all-party meeting has been called at 7 AM to forge consensus among parties on the vote counting process.
The local level election was held at all 753 local levels across the country on Friday, in which a total of 35,221 people's representatives are going to be directly elected.
