MYAGDI, Nov 5: An ambitious student, who was deprived of higher education due to poor economic condition and lack of family support, has finally got an opportunity to complete her studies. Myagdi Multiple Campus (MMC) has announced financial support along with free admission and residential facility for a visually impaired student named Dhanmaya BK. 

This has added wings to the dreams of Dhanmaya, who thinks she is no less capable than the people with normal eyesight. 

“I aspire to become a teacher for people with normal vision,” BK said. According to her, though the government has announced various kinds of facilities and privileges for the disabled people, in reality, it is not concerned about fulfilling their fundamental needs. 
Dhanmaya is originally from Raghu Ganga Rural Municipality but currently, she lives in Banepa-4 with her relatives.  Her mother died two years after her birth. Being unable to tolerate the torture of her stepmother for years, she finally left her home and took refuge at her relatives.

 She lived with her relatives at Mangala Rural Municipality-2, Babiyachaur in Myagdi and completed her high school education with the help of various people before moving to Banepa. “I could never get the love and respect from my parents but fortunately there were some good people in the society who were kind and generous to me,” BK added.

Social worker Lila Bahadur Baniya, who lives in New Road, provided her financial support of Rs 240,000 while MMC has offered her full scholarship and residential facility for her four-year Bachelors Degree course. Baniya had also provided financial support of Rs 60,000 for BK's 10+2 educations.   

Chief of MMC Tika Ram Sapkota, Assistant Chief Shridhar Subedi, other professors and some students have assured BK to provide such help even in the future. 
Speaking at the orientation program, BK promised to make the best use of this opportunity. 

“I am really grateful to all the people for their kindness and generosity and I will make sure that I won't ever let anyone down,” she said. 

After completing her studies, she wants to become a teacher.
