Visiting CPC leader Liu and Maoist Center Chairman Dahal discuss strengthening party ties

KATHMANDU, July 11: Visiting Liu Jianchao, the Head of the International Liaison Department of the Chinese Communist Party, held a meeting with CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Monday.


Liu, who is on a four-day visit to Nepal, reached Dahal's residence in Khumaltar on Monday afternoon. Senior leader of the CPN (Maoist Center) Narayan Kaji Shrestha, leader Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Barshaman Pun, Dev Prasad Gurung and leader Pampha Bhusal were present at the meeting.

During the meeting, relations between the CPN (Maoist Center) and the CPC were discussed. The sides have agreed to further strengthen the ties between the Maoist Center and the CPC in the days ahead.


Earlier on Sunday, Liu had held separate meetings with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Narayan Khadka.


Liu is leading an eight-member team.  The visiting Chinese delegation is scheduled to hold meetings also with President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Chairman of CPN (Unified Socialist) Madhav Nepal and the party’s senior leader Jhala Nath Khanal.
