KATHMANDU, Dec 9: The Dalit community has been found suffering much with the violence against women in Nepal. Such information was shared by Secretary at National Women’s Commission, Ram Prasad Bhattarai, during a programme on Thursday.
Secretary Bhattarai presented a working paper on ‘Women Rights and Control of VAW for Sustainable Development’ and shared the facts that the Commission had received 203 complaints of domestic violence while 67 of VAW in nine months after Shrawan 2072BS.
The VAW meted out in the age group of 15 to 49 was more pressing in village (22%) and less intense in cities (19%). Meanwhile, Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission, Anup Raj Sharma unveiled the report of the 7th Human Rights National Magna Meet 2015.
