Kathmandu where the other woman was living. Her husband, who is a driver by profession, earned money and had bought a house in Kathmandu. The woman living in the house happens to be his brother's sister-in-law.

On Sunday, another woman registered a case at NWC complaining her husband of having affairs with other women. She blamed that her husband, who follows tantric rituals, used to keep two or three new women as consort every year. She said her husband did not care about their only child.

The two cases were registered at the NWC on the very next day of the international campaign of gender based violence against women held from November 25 to December 10.

During the 16-day campaign, 13 cases were filed at the NWC including domestic violence and violence against women. In this fiscal year, 123 such cases were registered at the NWC.

Nirmala Gurung, legal officer at the NWC, said that violence against women is going unabated despite many attempts from the government by bringing different laws to discourage it.
