KATHMANDU, Jan 19: Yogesh Vaidya, a veteran singer and senior composer of Nepali modern music, has passed away. Family sources said that he passed away at Kathmandu Valley Hospital in Sundhara, Kathmandu at 12:30 on Thursday night.
According to his disciple and singer Rita Maharjan, he felt some discomfort on Thursday afternoon and was taken to the hospital in the evening. The 77-year-old singer Vaidya was suffering from diabetes for a long time.

Late singer Yogesh Vaidya has many popular songs in Nepali and Newari language. In Nepali language, his songs like 'Sapna Bhulai Sara Anshu Liyera Go', 'Mero Anshuma Nahanse', 'Nepal Mero Uphaar Bho' etc. are popular. Similarly, the Newari language 'Jai Namo Siri Buddha Bhagwan', 'Jimi Yahmah Thaun Jithay Wai' etc. are very popular.
His family sources informed that his last rites will be performed today at Aryaghat in Pashupati.
