KATHMANDU, Jan 15: Veteran music composer and musician Norbu Chiring Appa passed away on Monday. He was 75.
Musicians Association informed that Appa passed away this morning at his residence in Hattiban, Lalitpur.
Music coordinator (arranger) Phanindra Rai, who collaborated with him for over two decades, also confirmed his death. Appa also composed the music for the songs of Narayan Gopal and Music Nepal.
Veteran singer and composer Vaidya passes away
Appa has a wife and two daughters. One daughter is in Canada while the other is in the UK. After both daughters arrive in Nepal, the last rites will be performed according to Buddhist traditions.
Chetan Sapkota, President of the Musicians Association of Nepal, said that the death of veteran Chhiring has left the Nepali music industry in a vacuum.
Narayan Gopal, Nati Kali, Bhakta Raj Acharya and others collaborated with him.
