BAGLUNG, July 13: Vehicular movement along the Mid-Hill Highway has come to a complete halt due to landslides and floods triggered by incessant rainfall. The landslide in Jhakristhan of Galkot Municipality has disrupted traffic in both directions.

Vehicles are unable to operate from western Baglung to the district headquarters as the road is blocked. Passengers have been stranded on the road as vehicles operating from major cities, including Kathmandu, Pokhara and Burtibang in Baglung to Rukum-East, Jajarkot, and Rukum-West, are stopped.

According to SP Rishiram Kadel at the District Police Office, Baglung, efforts are being made to clear the road by removing debris with the help of police and locals. He said that this section gets disrupted time and again by landslides with mud from above the road when it rains.

The landslides with mud also keeps obstructing the road in Kalapaira of Nisikhola on the highway. RSS
