Uthau Kalakar video launched

A music video of ‘Uthau Kalakar’ that talks about artists and art fraternity was launched amid a function at Nepal Art Council, Babarmahal on Wednesday. Journalist Madhu Shahi penned the song, while the music was composed by Joyti Prakash BK.

According to a press statement, Chancellor of Nepal Academy of Fine Arts Ragini Upadhyay Grela, Lyricist/Film Maker Yadav Kharel and Artist/Art Critic Ramesh Khanal jointly launched the audio and video of the song. The statement further read that the video launch was an attempt to promote art and artists.

Talking about the song, Madhu stated, “I have been writing about art for almost a decade now. I have incorporated my art and journalism experiences into this song.”

Similarly, Joyti Prakash claimed that the song was special to his team because unlike his song, no other songs promote art. He said, “I think we have created history with the first ever song on art.”

The three-minute long video features Shashi Shah, Durga Baral and Ragini Upadhyay, among artists from Pokhara. Rupak Khanal, Sheetal Pandey and Sita Bhandari have also lent their voice to the song.
