A panel discussion on ‘Intergenerational Dialogue-Climate Change, Gender and Youth’ was held in the capital on Saturday.

The event jointly organized by We Inspire Nepal (WIN) and the US Embassy Youth Council (USYC) brought together youths from various backgrounds and youth panel experts from their specific professional and skill background.


According to the organizer, the first topic of the discussion was on ‘The relation between Climate Change on Youths and the Economy’. The panelists for this session were lawmaker Gagan Thapa, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Forests and Environment Radha Wagle and an Economics Graduate from London School of Economics Astha Wagle. The session was moderated by Binod Deuba, a USYC 2022 member.


The second panel discussion focused on the relation between climate change and gender. The panelists for this session were Bindu Bhandari, Engagement and Outreach Manager at Climate Interactive and Umesh Balal Magar, a Network Coordinator at Nepalese Youth for Climate Action. The moderator for this session was Prasansha Acharya, a USYC 2022 Member. Both the panel discussions were followed by question and answer sessions between the panelists and the participants.
