KATHMANDU, April 13: The CPN (Maoist Center) has published poll posters using a picture of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Managing Director Kulman Ghising in its campaign for the upcoming local level election by going against the election code of conduct.

Meanwhile, Maoist leaders and cadres have been sharing Ghising's photos on social media as well. The use of Ghising’s image as propaganda for the upcoming local level election by the leaders and cadres of the party has received backlash from many people over social networks.

According to the Election Code of Conduct 2022, government employees are not allowed to join any political party or stand in favor of or against any candidate.

The election poster that has Ghising’s image also has a slogan 'From darkness to light'. The poster also features CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Finance Minister Janardan Sharma.

In the poster, the CPN (Maoist Center) has portrayed the end of load shedding in Nepal as their biggest achievement. The Maoists have also stated that they will now launch a campaign for free electricity.

The picture was also shared by Chairman Dahal but was deleted after several criticisms.
