POKHARA, May 19: Seven houses collapsed in Lamjung district when a 5.8 magnitude earthquake struck this morning. Three villagers were injured by the quake.
According to police, 40-year-old Uma Gurung and 83-year-old Khawakumari Pandey of Marshyangdi Rural Municipality have been injured. The name of another injured has not been disclosed.
Earthquake shakes Lamjung again
According to DSP Ganga Bahadur Thapa of Lamjung, seven houses have been destroyed so far. He said the number of injured is likely to increase. According to him, all the collapsed structures are mud houses. He said that the injured were brought to the district hospital for treatment.
According to the National Earthquake Monitoring & Research Center, a 5.8 Richter Scale earthquake struck at 5:42AM on Wednesday in Lamjung.
The earthquake was felt in Lamjung, Manang, Gorkha, Tanahu and Kaski districts. People panicked and rushed out of their homes as they felt the tremor.
