If I asked you a question – are you bored of the lockdown? - I am pretty sure all of you would say ‘yes’.

As we want to get back to our normal lives,.hang out with friends, roam around like we used to, enjoying the breeze as we walked around without a care in the world.

But we all know the present situation of the whole world. We are in the middle of a global pandemic, a disease so new that it was named only after it had already started to spread like a wildfire. Every day the number of confirmed cases is increasing at an alarming rate. So, for now, lockdown is the only solution and it's up to us to make it productive.

If I ask you another question – are we at rest or on the move? Many of us will say we're at rest, we have nothing to do. But how can we be at rest when time is still ticking away? When days are passing by and our life spans are decreasing every moment.

We've all heard the saying that an empty mind is the devil's workshop and in these desperate times, it really shows. When we stay immobile and without anything to do, we get negative thoughts and emotions that can be a major blow to our mental health and can cause anxiety and even depression to some. So we must do some work continuously to keep our minds engaged like a little workout, yoga or meditation.

The world has become a global village. We have access to the internet .and this is the right time to make the best utilization of the internet. So I humbly request all of you to develop hobbies. We can learn languages, can know interesting facts about the whole world, can have research on different fields and we also can know the biography of different scientists who have contributed to different fields and can get updated about the present issues of the country and have research on it as being a citizen it's our responsibility to know about the country and take care of it.

So there are enormous things that we can learn by using the internet. I request all, please don't misuse the internet. Don't get involved in works like harassment, bullying and making unnecessary trolls because everyone has the right to live their life. When you can get this much knowledge on the internet, why misuse it?

Most of us with our busy day-to-day lives had never imagined we would have this much free time in our hands. All of us have that one thing we wanted to do but never could as we didn't get time. Now it is the right time for reading a book, a novel, watching movies, series, dramas and doing arts and crafts. We also have a lot of things lying around our house that we don't really use anymore. We have always learned about recycling. So why not do some DIYs and utilize the things.

If you are bored, take a minute and think about the people who are in this time without any means to entertain themselves or even don't have enough food to eat. Let’s think about the people who are in a hospital bed fighting against death and think about people who have been stranded on the border and don’t even have water to drink.

In this situation, instead of expecting the government to do everything, we must do what we can to help each other out. In these dire times, instead of eating delicious food at home, we can have normal food and help those who are finding it hard to feed themselves. We must be wary of the condition of people living in the neighborhood and help them if they need help. And also there are lots of street dogs who are going hungry right now. We must feed them too. These are the times where we must show that humanity is the thing that makes who we are.

Also, let's use a moment to be grateful for the essential workers and health care workers who are working during this pandemic on the front line to make us safe and to end this pandemic.

There are so many people in this world who are dreaming to live a life that you are living right now. You have no idea. So, embrace each and every breath you are taking. Sometimes we are too busy thinking about the things that we don't have and forget to cherish the blessings that we have. The breath you just took was a blessing. So be grateful.
