Dhangadi, Oct 16: The ruling CPN (Unified Socialist) District Committee has broken the alliance in Dadeldhura, the constituency of Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba.
The CPN (Unified Socialist) party's district leadership and workers became dissatisfied after the party did not get a seat in Dadeldhura, which has only one constituency. Intellectual leader Dr Tara Joshi left the party to run as an independent candidate for the provincial assembly.
CPN (Unified Socialist) Dadeldhura has aligned with Nepali Congress (BP). On Saturday, both the parties held a press conference and announced that they will jointly go to the election on November 20. In Dadeldhura, the Nepali Congress (BP) has nominated Karna Bahadur Malla as a candidate for the House of Representatives (HoR) election.
CPN (Unified Socialist) decides to support govt to pass budget
Independent candidate Joshi, who left the party, has been supported by CPN (Unified Socialist) party Dadeldhura. Unified Socialist District Chairperson Kabindra Bista said that there is a 6-point electoral agreement between CPN (United Socialist) Dadeldhura and Nepali Congress (BP).
BP Congress will help Dr Joshi in the Provincial Assembly election. After the Nepali Congress BP aligned with the CPN (Unified Socialist), the CPN-UML has said that it will break the alignment with the Congress BP. The UML issued a press release on Friday and said it had broken the electoral alliance with the Nepali Congress BP.
Among the candidates for the membership of the HoR, Nepali Congress BP had agreed to support Karna Bahadur Malla, the candidate of the UML in the provincial assembly. Even though Unified Socialist Dadeldhura decided to support Malla, who is running against Deuba, the candidate of the ruling coalition party, the party's provincial committee and center did not support him.
Dinesh Subedi, secretary of the provincial committee, said that the chairperson of Dadeldhura, Bista, was not even an ordinary member coordinating with the Nepali Congress BP against the party's decision.
