Fire opened at Bhairahawa businessman, one arrested (Update)

Police have arrested a man on the charge of opening fire from Lumbini Road. According to SP Rabindra Dhanuk, the arrestee is Birendra Yadav.

 


BUTWAL, Dec 6: An unidentified gang opened fire at the Vice-president of Siddharthanagar Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Kul Prasad Neupane in Bhairahawa on Tuesday evening.

However, Neupane is unhurt. He survived by a whisker after the bullet pierced through the jacket he was wearing.

Neupane told Republica Online that motorcycle-borne assistants opened fire at him when he was reading a newspaper at Muktinath Food Industry.

SSP Sher Bahadur Basnet said that all the entry points to the city have been sealed after the incident.

Earlier today, Siddharthanagar Chamber of Commerce & Industry had taken out a rally against the constitution amendment bill. Local businessmen are scared after Neupane was attacked within few hours of the rally.
