JUMLA, May 6: People of Sarmi at Tatopani rural municipality-7 in Jumla district have started falling ill due to an outbreak of an unidentified disease.
The entire village of Sarmi has been affected by the disease, said Hemraj Kunwar, a teacher at Janata Sevak Basic School, Katiya Sarmi.
According to him, no house in the village is spared from the disease. According to him, patients get a fever in the beginning and show signs of giddiness, vomiting and no appetite. He added that the school is virtually closed as most of the students and teachers have fallen ill. People of all ages and gender have been affected, said a local, Surya Budha. The locals have said that the health post of the rural municipality has been informed of the disease outbreak in the village but no help has yet arrived from there.
