Kathmandu, March 8: The main opposition, CPN-UML is to organise a grand mass meeting in the capital on Thursday to shed clear light on the violent activities that took place in Rajbiraj of Saptari.
The central secretariat meeting chaired by General Secretary Iswar Pokharel decided to hold the gathering to clarify to the party cadres about the intervention made into the peaceful programme held in Rajbiraj, and also to 'debunk' the incident. Accordingly all members, front/organisation members and liaison committee members of the party have been directed to attend the gathering, according to Chief of Publicity Department Yogesh Bhattarai.
A decision was also taken to hold district assemblies in all the districts across the country to talk about the Rajbiraj incident and the Mechi-Mahakali national campaign.
The meeting reached a decision to draw the attention of the government towards the inhumane and apolitical acts like threatening, assaulting, displacing and smearing black colour in the face being carried out against UML leaders and cadres. RSS
