KATHMANDU, Feb 25: The CPN-UML has registered the party at the Election Commission (EC) for the purpose of participating in the upcoming local-level polls. 


A team led by the party’s General Secretary Shankar Pokharel reached the EC today and registered the party for local elections.

The UML registered the party as per Article 271 of the Constitution and Section 48 of the Political Parties related Act-2073 BS.  


Stating that the CPN-UML has already been involved in election preparation, General Secretary Pokharel urged other political parties to involve themselves in the election process. 


His party has now been launching an election-centered orientation program across the nation for the preparation of local-level polls, he shared.
