MYAGDI, April 26: Expressing dissatisfaction with the party's candidate selection process, the chairman of the CPN-UML Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality Committee of Myagdi has changed party before the nomination. Hom Bahadur Thapa has become a candidate from RPP as he did not get a ticket for the post of Rural Municipality chairperson/ deputy chairperson from the UML.
Thapa, who has been an active member of the Communist Party of Nepal for nearly 30 years, left the party dissatisfied with the party's decision. Thapa had objected to the UML's decision to re-nominate Thamsara Pun as chairperson and Pragati Karki as deputy chairperson in Dhaualagiri Municipality on Monday, the second day of the Gandaki Province Committee's nomination registration.
A team of UML central members and district chairperson had reached Dhaulagiri from Beni, asking Thapa to reconsider his decision to leave the party. However, Thapa even refused to meet the team.
