KATHMANDU, Oct 14: The CPN (UML) has extended an invitation to President Bidya Devi Bhandari to a tea reception it is hosting tomorrow on the occasion of the Bijaya Dashami, Deepawali, Nepal Sambat and Chhath festivals.
Also invited are the Vice President, the Prime Minister, the Chief Justice, the Speaker of the Parliament, Ministers, the office-holders of the constitutional bodies, lawmakers, leaders of different political parties, the high-ranking government officials including the Chief Secretary, the chiefs, chairpersons and general managers of different commissions, committees, corporations, banks and financial institutions, and the chiefs of security bodies.
UML secretary Yogesh Bhattarai has stated in a press release today that invitation cards have also been sent to the former administrators, senior figures of the democracy movement, civil society leaders, families of martyrs, industrialists and businessmen, artists, journalists, sports persons, leaders of various professional organizations and all the party cadres.
It is stated that the chiefs and representatives of the diplomatic missions based in Nepal as well as the persons from the diplomatic community have been invited to the event.
The tea party will take place from 12 pm to 3 pm at Shankha Park in front of the party's central office at Dhumrabarahi.
The CPN (UML) has been giving continuity to this custom of hosting the tea reception on the occasion of the different festivals started by the then chairman of the party Manmohan Adhikari when he was the leader of the main opposition party in parliament. RSS
