KATHMANDU, Feb 25: CPN-UML central member Durga Prasai has been expelled from the party.
The sixteenth secretariat meeting of UML held on Saturday decided to expel him from the party on charge of being involved in activities against the party's policy.
Prasai, who is also a medical entrepreneur, held a political program in Jhapa with former king Gyanendra Shah as his guest.
When the party prepared to take action following this, Prasai announced that he had left the UML.
