TAPLEJUNG, Jan 9: The CPN-UML recently made public the voters’ lists for the convention of 11 districts including Taplejung due to difficulties in managing the names of the representatives even though the election program was scheduled to start on Saturday.
The names of 657 voters have been published under the ongoing convention at City Hall, Taplejung. With this, the election program has started. UML had planned to hold the election on Saturday.
In Taplejung, which has nine local units and 61 wards, the UML is preparing to have at least one member from each ward in the district committee. While doing so, at least 33 percent women's participation has to be covered from the ward. There is a provision in the UML statute that a maximum of 90 members are elected including five office-bearers in the party’s district committee.
