UML clinches Pikal Rural Municipality chief

SINDHULI, May 17: CPN-UML has clinched a victory in Pikal Rural Municipality.

UML candidate Ghanashyam Karki has been elected as chief of Pikal Rural Municipality. He secured 3126 votes. His closest rival Nepali Congress’s Mohan Karki got 2,717 votes.

Similarly, UML candidate Parbati Sunuwar secured 3, 214 votes to become deputy chief. Her closest rival NC’s Yasoda Khadka got 2, 723 votes.

In this rural municipality, UML has won election in wards 2, 3, 4 and 5 while NC clinched victory in 1 and 6 wards.
