UML chief's PSO 'commits suicide'

KATHMANDU, July 13: The Personal Security Officer of UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal was found dead on Monday. Police sources guessed that Sub-Inspector Nurapati Nepal could have committed suicide, but said nothing could be concluded without further investigation.



The body of Nepal of around 33 years of age was found in Swayambhu with gunshot wound in the head on Monday afternoon. A pistol was recovered from his body. Nepal, a resident of Palpa, is said to have returned from a UN peacekeeping mission abroad a few months back. He married last year.



"We had met just yesterday and had a jovial chat for a couple of hours. I am shocked to hear this," a police officer, who is a friend of Nepal and Personal Security Officer of a state minister, told myrepublica.com.
