UDMF to register amendment on four topics

KATHMANDU, Feb 25: The United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) is to register amendment proposal to the Constitution of Nepal (Second Amendment), 2017 on four topics.

KATHMANDU, Feb 25: The United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) is to register amendment proposal to the Constitution of Nepal (Second Amendment), 2017 on four topics. 


The UDMF Secretariat meeting held at the party office of the Tarai-Madhes Democratic Party at Bijuli Bazaar on Saturday decided to register amendment proposal on the topics of language, citizenship, federalism and the constitution of the National Assembly, the Upper House of the Federal parliament. 

Manish Suman, General Secretary of the Sadbhavana Party, one of the constituents of the UDMF, said preparations are being made to register samendment proposal on the four above-mentioned topics. He added that discussions were being held with the stakeholders on the amendment proposal.

The process for making a second amendment to the constitution had started in the Legislature-Parliament on Thursday (February 23). 


The government had registered the constitution amendment proposal in the Legislature-Parliament on November 29, 2016. 


The Parliament has fixed February 26 as the deadline for MPs wanting to register additional amendment to the constitution amendment bill. RSS
