KATHMANDU, Nov 3: Leaders of the political parties associated with the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) are paying a collective courtesy call on Indian President Pranab Mukherjee on Thursday evening.

According to UDMF leader and Chairman of Tarai Madhes Sadhbhawana Party (TMSP) Mahendra Raya Yadav, Madhesi leaders will meet the Indian President at Hyatt Regency at 7:30 pm.

UDMF leaders said that discussions will be held on the implementation of the eight-point deal reached with the government and constitution amendment among other political issues with the Indian President.

We will inform the Indian President that the government has failed to address our demands and that the new constitution has curtailed the rights guaranteed by the Interim Constitution, said a leader.

“The eight-point deal was signed between the Girija Prasad Koirala-led government and UDMF in the presence of an Indian representative,” said Yadav , “We will inform him that the pact has not been implemented.”
