KATHMANDU, Feb 27: Leaders from the Madhes-based parties are holding a meeting with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal at the latter’s official residence in Baluwatar.
According to Sadbhawan Party Chairman Rajendra Mahato, Tarai Madhes Democratic Party Chairman Mahantha Thakur, Federal Socialist Forum Nepal Co-chairman Rajendra Shrestha and Mahato himself are holding the meeting with the Prime Minister this evening.
According to Mahato, the meeting will focus on constitution amendment bill and further amendments.
The UDMF has registered amendment proposal on the four topics - language, citizenship, federalism and the constitution of the National Assembly, the Upper House of the Federal parliament.
A Legislature-Parliament meeting on last Friday had allowed the political parties to registered further amendments at the Parliament Secretariat within 72 hours.
The UDMF has been threatening that they will not participate in the local elections unless the constitution amendment bill is endorsed by the Parliament.
