KATHMANDU, March 19: The United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) has boycotted today's meeting of the Legislature-Parliament.
They boycotted the meeting citing demand of constitution amendment, the major demand of the UDMF, was not addressed.
With Speaker Onsari Gharti announcing the commencement of the meeting, UDMF –associated lawmakers stood up from their respective seats as a gesture of their protest of the session.
On the occasion, Jangilal Yadav of Tarai-Madhes Loktantrik Party blamed that government has made the Madhesi people irate by announcing the date for local level election without creating political environment.
Saying the local poll could not take place without amending constitution, he demanded to amend it through consensus and collaboration.
With Yadav concluding his views, UDMF lawmakers walked out of the session. RSS
