KATHMANDU, Feb 11: United Arab Emirates (UAE) has set targets of 115 runs for Nepal in the ICC World Cricket League Division 2.

In the third match of Division 2 UAE was all out in 31 overs. The game was shortened to 34 overs due to rain.

Nepal was selected to field first in a must win game against the UAE at the United Cricket Club Ground in Windhoek, Namibia.

Shaiman Anwar scored highest 30 runs with two fours. Adnan Mufti hit 18 runs including two fours.

Sompal Kami took four wickets with loss 30 runs. Similarly, Sandeep Lamichhane took 3 wickets with loss of 30 runs.

Nepal had started with a slim win against host Namibia but lost to Oman by six wickets in its second game. Nepal must win today’s game if it is to secure the top two spot of the tournament that guarantees two spots in next month’s ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers in Zimbabwe.

While Nepali bowling lineup has continually maintained its mark, the team has showcased poor batting lineup in both the games. Against Oman, Nepal struggled to score 138 in 46 over, which the latter reached in just 35.1 over.

If past matches are to reflect anything, Nepal has repeatedly lost against UAE since 2014’s ACC Premier League in Malaysia.
