KATHMANDU, July 1: Police have arrested two Tanzanian nationals, Ramadhani Simba Mwabumba, 52 and Twalib Kipevu Pashuwa, 56, for possession of a substantial quantity of cocaine. The arrests were made at Hotel Gallery in Thamel following a coordinated effort by the Narcotics Control Bureau of Nepal Police
Mwabumba was apprehended from room number 204 of the hotel, where authorities discovered 606.55 grams of cocaine concealed in 35 capsules hidden inside a juice carton. Pashuwa, arrested from room number 205 of the same hotel, was found with 641.21 grams of cocaine packaged in 37 capsules within a juice carton.
According to the bureau, an investigation is ongoing after obtaining a remand extension from the Kathmandu District Court.
