Two suspects behind detonating bombs in Tapli Rural Municipality office arrested

UDAYAPUR, Nov 27: Police on Thursday arrested two people involved in detonating a bomb at the office of Tapli Rural Municipality of Udayapur district five days ago. 

Chief of District Police Office Udayapur Bhim Prasad Dahal said those arrested are Gaura Bahadur Devkota, 68, of Tapli rural municipality-5, Rupatar and Ritu BK, 35, of Tapli-1, Okhle. 

BK is the Udayapur district member of Netra Bikram Chand-led Maoist outfit while Devkota is the district adviser of the group and in-charge of Limchungbung Rural Municipality of Udayapur, police said. 

According to police sources, the two convicts had planted Improvised Explosive Device (IED) inside the office of Tapli Rural Municipality during the night five days ago. 

They were arrested acting on the tip-off and in-depth police investigation, according Dahal. Further investigation into the incident is currently underway.
